The Care campaign is a joint drive by Nursing Standard and the Patients Association to improve fundamental patient care across the UK.
Nursing Standard's Power to Care campaign aims to boost the authority and status of ward sisters and charge nurses.
Nursing Standard is supporting the RCN's 'Frontline First' campaign - which aims to expose reckless NHS budget cuts. So far, the RCN's research has found that almost 10,000 NHS posts in England alone have been earmarked for cuts.
Nursing Standard's Patient Dignity campaign was run with the RCN to ensure that patients are always treated with respect. Our 12-month dignity campaign began in June 2008.
In 2007, half of all nurses across the UK said that patients were at risk of malnutrition or that there were 'serious problems' with patient nutrition in their workplaces.
In 2006 Nursing Standard invited readers to tell us about the skill mix at theirworkplace. The result of our snapshot survey helped launch a campaign for safe staffing levels.
We asked our readers in 2005 to write a charter for nursing students. It was obviously a subject that struck close to the hearts of students and qualified nurses alike.
In January 2004 we launched a campaign to boost the image of nursing and midwifery in the UK: 'Nursing the Future'.
Nursing Standard supported the 2005 Wipe it Out campaign, developed by the RCN in partnership with the Infection Control Nurses' Association, to develop minimum standards on infection control and prevention.
